Mend Citroen Xsara Cuts Out Me

My Citroen Xsara cuts out on me?

The temperature gauge disappears then the engine just cuts out. Will not restart. After 10 minutes, the temp. guage comes back on, it then allows me to restart it and doesn't do it again from a few days. Its is getting more frequent now though. There are no obviously leaks from pipes etc and no blown fuses. Any ideas?
