Impact damage on Hitachi camcorder?

I've dropped my Hitachi hyrbrid camcorder HS500E. It won't switch on anymore. The minimum cost of repair is around £100 which I can't afford at moment. Though need the camcorder desperately. Is there a way to get it working again myself... open it up or press buttons? I don't want to loose the last lot of recordings either. Thanks
