HOW CAN I FIX MY MERCEDES C180,IT SEEMS VERY SLUGGISH WHEN COLD AND DOES NO?

i have a c5 hdi and it's exactley the same when cold but fine after a mile or so it's to stop you thrashing it untill it's warmed up as more engine wear is caused in the first mile than a 200 mile trek down a motorway also make sure the thermostat is working ok so it reaches normal operating temperature a s a p
