Mend Dyson Animal Suction Filters

Poor Suction on my Dyson DC 08 Animal?

My Dyson DC 08 Animal has poor suction, I have cleaned the filters and checked for blockages but it made little difference, can I open the cylinder and check inside it and if so how?
