Help!! Whirlpool Dishwasher ADP 5406?

Hope you can help!!!
Have had this dishwasher less than 2 years.
This weekend i noticed my dishwasher had stopped and the green start light was flashing.
I checked the drainage, the water was not draining out of the machine, have cleared any signs of blockage now and done this a few times over the weekend.
The machine is still doing this!!!
I can disconnect the drainage hose and lay it on the floor straigh and water would come rushing through it but when i hold the pipe up it is like their is no pressure their.
I have ran it a couple of times now and still doing the stopping and light flashing thing.
I have just got off the phone to Whirlpool and they said that they can send an engineer out but couldn't actually give me an idea of what it might be.
I am guessing that it might be the pump.
I got put through to a chap that asked about how many times the flashing is (2 times then delay then 2 times in that formation) he said that it is either a fault with the pump or water has leaked through to anouther part of the machine and the sensors have picked it up.
Can anyone give me some advice on what would be the best approach please.
