how to get back my horn or cruise control(ford mondeo Nreg '96 MK1)?

i notice the other day whiles driving that the cruise control wasn't working which really was not too much of a problem but when the horn went too!! i was more concerned!! i have had a look in the haynes manual and i have check the fuse and the relay but both are working fine!! i have also don a continuity check between the horn switches and the plug located on the underside of the steering column, which i believe rules of the spring contact in the steering wheel between the switched and the plug! any ideas will be really welcome!!
