astra near side rear door wont open?

hi... my astra '05 plate estate near side rear door wont open from the outside or the inside.... is there anyway opening it behind the door card... i've taken the door card off and the linkages are all conected.... just can't open the door still..... i'm pretty sure it must be a damaged wire or something as the window stopt working a few months ago.... but as i can't open the door to see if the wires are crushed i can't say it's the problem.... any theorys greatly app:)
