Mend Sony DVP-NS400D Error Disc

How can I repair my dvd player. Sony DVP-NS400D?

After inserting dvd, player does not start. Sometimes I get an error code,to clean the dvd disc. Sometimes it says no disc or cannot play.Are the parts to repair usually more expensive than the cost to replace the player?
