The screen on my portable DVD is so light ?

The screen on my DVD player is so light I can hardly see the menu words. I have to lay the screen as flat as is will go to half way make out the words. I have ajusted the brightness, hue and contrast.This did help some ,but I cant watch a movie like this. Please Help
