Mend Coming Help Boiler

Hot water too hot from every hot water tap?

The water coming out of every hot water tap in the house is much too hot. I am trying to help an elderly lady by telephone so don't know too much. There is a boiler in the bathroom with a timer by it and a water tank in the attic. What should she do to alleviate the problem?

If its an old type of immersion tank look for the thermostat which is normally attached to the side and turn it down.
