riding mower is so hard to steer?

Look at the bottom of the steering column and you'll see a geared quadrant that may need lubricating....also under the deck there's a bolt that goes into the bottom of the column that shouldn't be over tight. Check these and any other tie bars that you can see, together with the tyre pressures.
