Mend Broken Hot Turn

broken tap!!!!!!!?

The handle of my hot water tap has come off and doens't seem to fit back on. The hot water handle that you turn just came off one day and it doesn't seem to attach itself back on. Could anyone tell me why, and how I could repair this. They are rather old taps.

screw holding handle onto valve has broke in the valve dus no way to refit handle, get new valve 1/2 inch from shop and tell them you need fixing screw for same you will find this under the blue cap on the handle
remove old valve by turning off water 1st and unscrewing valve from the rest of fitting
