Can you help me fix my Biosilk hair straightener?

I bought this Biosilk straightener a while back and it quit after only 2 mths. I can't send it back because I no longer have the box nor the receipt. I took it apart and I found a little bit of gunk in it where the cord attaches to the straightener. So I cleaned that out and tried it then and it still had no power. I think it is a shortage in my cord. How in the world can I fix this? Please help me!!!

I am having sota the same situation, except i am having a loose connection with my remington straighteners. I dont kno where 2 send mine off 2 get it repaired, nor i have the recipt or the box !!! send it off 2 be repaired.. somewhere near your home town.
