Mend Mercury 5hp 2000 Motor Fuel

2000 Mercury 5hp 2 stroke motor?

The motor has sat for the past two years. The gas flows to the fuel pump, but not thru the pump. It starts and runs if I put starter fluid or a little gas directly in the carburater, but will not continue to run. what should I do?
