Seat Toledo went bang - struggled it home. But then it wouldn't start. Seat garage checked the cam belt which had slipped. they replaced this. It still spews out smoke and is very noisy. They had the fuel pump repaired. It still spewing out white smoke and has a very noisy engine. We are up to £1,000.00 and counting!! What could it be? the garage are still running checks!!
Yes i agree, garage should have done compresion test 1st before replacing pump.if the belt slipped you have valve damage,or maybe worse if a piston has cracked when the valve hit.

well i cant say much for the garage that you use but in my yrs as a mechanic if a cam belts slips or breaks then you end up with bent valves and the head has to be taken off to replace these very costly repair
