Mend Bath Fitted Wall

tiling a bath?

last time I measured one tile up from the bath edge, fitted batten, tiled the wall, then fitted the bottom tile and seal.
this time I am changing the bath. Is it best to tile under the edge and silicon seal (this make for easier tiling in an empty room) or should I use the previous method. I could fit the bath temporarily to make sure I had the right heigth, remove then tile to one tiles height. Grateful for any help. Gene

Hi Being a Tiler I always find it better to either cut the tile onto the bath or as you have done in the past get the hight and then fix a batten.I personally prefere to tile down onto the bath edge when the bath is fitted and then silicone once the grout has dried. Make sure there is no movment in the bath when you silicon as to much movement will break the seal. Also fill the bath with water before you silicone as plastic baths flex with heavy weight in them and open up around the edge of the tiles. This way you then make sure that the silicone goes into all the gaps.Happy tiling and don't start in a corner start in the middle of the wall :-)
