Where is the engine coolant thermostat on a Xsara 1.4 X reg please?

Hi,

I have a 1.4 petrol Citroen Xsara and the fan keeps turning on whilst stationary at lights or when driving fairly slowly and the heater guage goes upto about 95 degrees. After another few minutes of non movement it all happens again. There is certainly water in the expansion tank, but it never gets very warm. I'm hoping that if I can remove the thermostat and the car shows no signs of the problem again, then I can simply get another one installed.
