To do these, the car has to be jacked up, and the nearside wheel removed - after slackening the large driveshaft end nut. The suspension bottom joint has to be separated from the lower wishbone (thats the difficult bit) and the wheel hub is swung out of the way, allowing the driveshaft end to withdraw from the hub at the same time. The track rod end has to be disconnected on some models too. The driveshaft can then be prised out of the gearbox using a broad lever, taking care not to damage the oil seal. Transmission oil will be lost from the hole where the driveshaft came from. In a nut shell, thats how they are done!
