I have an Aqua pLUS electric shower 3 years old & about 1 year ago the element burned out and the element had to be replaced. 3 months ago the element overheated and tripped - so untripped it. But now this has happened again. The water pressure is fine downstairs & the previous shower was installed 5years + and no problems.. Should I put in a new shower or how best resolve Thks

Exactly the same symptoms, shower works ok on all heat settings but when the off button is pushed the water stops flowing but the overheat light comes on and you can hear the water boiling before the thermal cutout turns off the power but leaves the over heat light on. I now make sure the main ceiling pull cord switch is turned off. Any advise welcomed please.

siyron, did you ever figure it out? I'm now having the same problem. Resetting the heat sensor gets the shower working again (water heats up), but every time you turn it off, it makes the boiling noise and the overheat light returns.

Thanks everyone who answered this problem. It worked. However why does it sound as if it is boiling and the overheat light come on every-time the shower is switched off? I even tried running it on cold for a while (it actually doesn't run completely cold). Still the same. Anyone know?

Genius, thank you so much 22lee and co!

It was hard to tell if the plate in the thermal cutoff (TCO) had been reset. I just pushed it back in. But it did make a "click" sound the first time I pushed it. I then replaced all the parts and, voila, a working shower.

As below, this solved my problem - wish I'd have found it before my guests left after having cold showers! I wasn't sure what was meant by using a screwdriver to push back the metal plate but underneath the thermal cut-off there's a metal switch that needs clicked back into place, easy enough to do but hard to explain in words. Very easy fix that will be apparent when you get the nuts off.

Cheers lee22!

22lee is completely right with his method.
Pushing gently back the metal plate in the heat sensor did the job. Saved us 65 gbp.

Russell's answer is right on.Just remember you dont have to take the nuts right off silly me.

Thanks Russell

you have to kind of reset itfrom the heat sensor, disconect the power from the main, open the front cover ,on the top left abovt the heating element undo the two nuts to release the heat sensor ,use a screwdriver to push the plate (on the heat sensor)back in.
