I need to weld a copper pipe that has water leaking and the main water valve is off

i would use a compression fitting,you can do this with a fair flow.if you have to solder it,then get a freeze kit from b&q,but put a wooded wedge/cork in pipe to stop flow

you cannot solder copper pipe when water is present .cut out the leak and use compression fittings if not freeze the pipe and then solder.
