ariston a1400swd?

The dryer stopped working and luckily was withn a week of guarantee. Technician said filter was blocked which cut off heating. Replaced it and left old one which was blocked but managed to clear it by running under tap. Recommended run rinse/spin cycle after drying to stop his happening. This seems rubbish to me and looks like a design fault. Any body know how you can access the filter to clean it as it is a pain if this is going to happenevery year or ids this just a ploy to ensure payment of an engineer's visit?
