Mend Nissan Micra Fine

Changing gears does not in 4th gear but all others fine?

I have a Nissan Micra 1999 (T reg), all of a sudden the car will not go in 4th gear ,but all others are fine including reverse, Can somebody please shead some light on this problem. I have tried putting it 4th when the car is switched off and it still will not go into gear.
