Whats wrong with my murry 3.5 H.P. lawn mower?

It runs at a low speed even under load. The cauperator connection and spring seem to be ok. I can increase RPM's by pushing the little fan that takes air from the flywheel but it doesn't move on it's own. It seams free and well oiled.

carb. is leaking gas into the motor.the float is stuck or has a hole in it if you remove float shake to hear if fuel is inside of it if their is it is bad.float level setting may be off.fuel inlet needle and seat need replaced.sometimes tapping on carb if float is stuck will stop it from leaking.but most likely carb is going to have to be cleaned and worn parts replaced.your oil if a 4 cycle motor needs to be changed the gas leaks into the oil and if not changed will destroy the motor.do not run until gas leak is fixed and oil is changed.
