Can I source a wooden toilet seat for a Fowler Ware cistern?
I have a Fowler Ware high-density vitrious-china cistern that has a stained wooden toilet seat with a double brass piano-hinge attaching both the seat and cover to a similar stained wooden back-plate that attaches to the actual toilet with two brass bolts.
Is it possible to purchase a replacement toilet seat of the same type as the one that we have had for the past 24 years is needing replacement?
Things and styles change over a period of 24yrs if you can't get one and you really want that style seat then why not buy a router, a set of good quality cutting bits, a large piece of timber and make yourself one using the old one as a pattern. That's what I would do. However if money is no object then take the seat to a carpenters shop and ask them to make you one.
