How to use a cordless phone bought from Austria in UK?(PanasonicKX-TCD735)?

Thanks for the advice. I have normal UK phone connected to the main wall socket. I changed the wiring of my phone extension box. I didn't tamper with the wall socket.

I am not trying to be stroppy here but here is some advice. What you have done to the socket is of doubtful legality in the UK. What would be better is to leave the socket as is. (Tampering with sockets is not legal.) Next make a small adapter using a BT style plug and a socket for the phone. Swap the wires over in the adapter. This would have left your phone system wired correctly; expecially useful if you add more sockets or you move and some one reports you to OffCom after spending huge amounts of time trying to make their phone work.

Thanks mate. I did as you suggested.Now the phone is working perfectly. Before this I contacted Panasonic UK & explained everything. But they said nothing could be done.

Hi it could be that the standard in austria is to use conection points 3and4 in the phone socket. in uk the standard is 2 and 5.
you have to open the phone socket on the wall and rewire the socket so it supplies a connection for the 2 middle points ie 3and4.
