Mend Allis-Chalmers 601 Workmaster Electrical System Voltage

Electrical system 601 workmaster?

I have a 601 workmaster, they told me the voltage is 6 volt, but the coil has 11.89 volts coming in and going out. The coil is labeled 6 volts. Is that correct? The tractor will not fire through the points?
