how can i fix my sewing machine?

on my singer sewing machine when i try to sew it doesnt create stitches, seems the top thread isnt pulling up the bobbin thread, seems like the needle isnt moving down far enough to catch the bobbin thread, could there be an elignment problem?

You will need to retime your machine, I can attach timing instructions if you email me with your model but because this site no longer allows email addresses to be shown you will either have to get my address from any answer from page 25 down or type in my address as you say not as you read it.
