Mend Asea Cylinda 1200 Door Lock Hard

Asea Cylinda 1200 dishwasher ?

I want to try the dishwasher but can't get the door lock to work. My sister was over and she gave it a hard shove with her hip and got it closed/locked but after opening it again I can't do it. I've tried pushing & shoving but don't want to break the lock slider completely. What can I do? Asea Cylinda 1200

There is a metal tongue sticking out from catch on the body of the diswasher, this has to push on a part of the catch in the door. Sometimes the tongue gets out of alignment and needs to to be gently bent so that it makes contact with the part in the door.
