Mend Renault Laguna 5th Gear

Renault Laguna Gearbox Dismantle How ?

have split casings but box will not separate. Has 5th (?) gear and a selector spline and fork on outboard end under tin cover, presume these have to be removed. Dif is rather rattley and drive gone, presume bearing collapsed ?

need to remove 5th gear first. usually circlip holding gear on then usually a pin holding selector on through selector shaft. lever off gear (usually tight) then possibly more bolts under gear to undo holding selector shafts in.

The re-building of these gearbox's is not for the average DIY as specialist tooling and measuring euipment is required
