Vauxhall Astra losing power?

I have an S reg 1.8 Astra which has been working fine, but recently lost power whilst driving. After leaving for a couple of minutes, it starts again fine, but in one day it happened 3 times. it has been fine since, except for 1 day last week when it happened again. Any ideas?
