P400C Fellowes Shreeder?

Put it onto R the shreeder goes in Reverse. Put it on I....It runs forward when I put paper in to the stage where the paper activates the switch. Once the paper goes forward to be shreed .........they stop .....but the noise continues. ?? Any ideas ??
