hi i bought laptop from woolworths and gaurantee just expired they said it was most proberly the main board that i need but there no longer available? except from them at a cost of £150.00 plus labour £110.00 plus postage plus vat and thats the chapest quote its a medion notebook model number fsp065 would anyone no if i can get one from anywere in the world im feeling pretty riped off
If your anywhere Liverpool I own a laptop repair center and we do free diagnostics and very reasonable repairs, 9/10 motherboard faults are indeed repairable, usually a fuse, diode or voltage regulator on the power circuit,
Feel free to call 0151 280 9101 to get through to the shop, you can always post it for a free diagnostic, and if you wish it repaired, just pay for return postage.
Average laptop repair on motherboard is around £70 when doable.

You don't actually say what is wrong with your Medion but if the diagnosis is a probable mainboard failure then I presume it appears dead. Unlike desktop computers, if a laptop motherboard fails you have no option but to replace it with an identical motherboard. And laptops are fiddly and awkward to disassemble and re-assemble. As a consequence if a laptop suffers a major failure it may not be economic to repair it. Your only hope is that a specialist laptop repair company might be able to offer you a better quote. Search online for laptop repair, or there may be someone in your local area.
If you decide not to repair your computer, you should still be able to remove the old hard drive and connect it to another computer to rescue any files you want to salvage.
