Mend Jaguar xj8 Start Car Set

2000 Jag xj8 wont start after short drive?

If I drive the car then let set for a minute to run an errand or get gas, etc. it wont start. has to sit for a couple of hours then starts again just fine. It sounds like it is out of gas but it is not as I just filled up. Lights, etc all turn no and car turns over just wont start. Any ideas?
