Mend Wont Work Not Light Up

my camera won't work does not light up?

i put batteries aparently won't work

have you put the batteries in the right way.(polarity ) ?
are they new batteries ?
are they rechargeable.? have you charged them ?
if camera is new, return it to the shop for a demo, or a replacement/refund
