my mountfield sp460 will only run at idle speed?

If you have the sp460 roller self propelled it should only idle this is to prevent the mower running away from you! it cuts at a nice gentle speed with little effort keep it running sweet i've had mine 7+ years. Great ps if it starts to play up ie hunting replace diaphragm,spark plug,air filter,both govener springs & clean eveything. mine was sounding iffy? now running like a sewing machine. Ta
