philips hts3400 theatre system disc tray won't open?

philips hts3400/37 standby light is on but disc tray won't open and the window on dvd player is blank. there's nothing, it doesn't come on what might be the problem????????? i tried everything.

Have the HTS3400/37 as well. Makes a low gaslike noise when plugged in and power pressed on. Noise located near board where power feeds. I try to shut off and remove plug the standby light remains on for 5+ seconds. Believe to be capacitor. Fixya.com also spoke of this product and issues. Also, had "DVD not found" issues prior as well (too frequent-clean/new DVDs). Anyway u look at it. Not good. Darn shame.
