CECT M88 Wifi Connection?

When we try and use the wifi on our brand new CECT M88 cell phone after typing in the key and then connect it just freezes - nothing more happens

Does not react no matter which key we use nothing happens. When we take battery out and then re-insert all is more or less back to square one but date and time settings are lost.

Then we try again...............? Would a cold or hot restart help or ?
