changing spark plugs and cables?

As john says, start a new post with more details, eg
make, model, year of car

did the problem appear suddenly or gradually get worse

was anyone doing anything to the car before this apeared, even just checking the oil level

has the car been serviced - I'm guessing not if you want to change the plugs and leads

engine management light - does it light up with the ignition lights then go out or does it stay on

You don't say which car you have...but either way I wouldn't have thought that replacing plugs and leads would solve this one alone.
