Moving the JCB?

Thank you Guys both for your suggestions.
Nelson, good input but sadly I don't have a suitable dump truck!
Mr Toad, excellent advice.! (& I can cope with all of that). But please can you tell me if the "lifting with the lever in the raise position" approach will also work for lifting one of the stabiliser legs that is down, and the repositioning of the backhoe (to pin it in place for the trip)
The backhoe is folded, but the bucket is resting on the ground at present.
Your attentions were greatly appreciated, and I am feeling much less negative about my purchase now.
Best Regards.

Thank you again Mr Toad
It occurs to me (not yet having taught myself the workings of a JCB) that perhaps the hydraulic pump for the rams may be driven from the gearbox. If that is the case, I am wondering if the hydraulic system will be “charged” when we tow it ?
In regard to your comment, I am delighted that such an evidently knowledgeable fellow sees this as “an interesting challenge”! Especially as when I eventually get it home & start trying to restore it, I have little doubt that I may have further questions. Assuming that this is ok with you.?
Best regards.
Mark.

Hello Mark
I don't see why not, you should be able to do this with a little careful(!) improvisation. Holding the appropriate control lever in the appropriate direction allows displaced fluid to flow back to tank. You are wise to secure the backhoe, as it WILL sink, unless all seals are perfect, which is unlikely!
Seems like an interesting challenge, one I would enjoy!
