tank overflow?

we have fitted new ballcock but still overflowing.Any suggestions

Make float part of valve lower in water... Bend arm downwards or adjust float downwards. Test first that the valve actually shuts off by pulling up on lever arm.

The ball cock can be adjusted to lower the tank level...type 1, bend the brass arm over your knee type 2, the plastic ball can be swivelled along the brass arm to give adjustment that way. I assume this is in a loft tank, rather than a loo?
