Hi Paul,
I am going to assume that you have tried resetting your alarm system by entering your user-code for a 2nd time; and you still have the fault 'Tamper K02'.
You need to check a few things:-
1). Connections - The keypad uses 4 wires. The terminals are marked up as 0v, 12v, CLK, DATA. Make sure that like terminals are connected between your endstation and keypad (0v>0v, 12v>12v, CLK>CLK, DATA>DATA). If you have a DMM (Digital MultiMeter) you may want to check the cable for integrity - meter for shorts and breaks between cable cores or if you think the cable is damaged, wire the keypad on a short length of new cable at the endstation.
2). Keypad address - On the back of the keypad you will see 3 jumper pins labeled vertically 2,3,4. Keypad 2 will have a jumper connecting on the top pins labeled 2.
3). [CHECK THIS 1st - most common fault..!] The keypad has a small tamper switch. Take the keypad off the wall, try and reset the system holding the switch in with your finger. If the leaf on the tamper switch has flattened, you can reform it to a bowed shape (away from the keypad) which will give a better contact when the keypad is closed. If the tamper switch is damaged, you can always remove it and link out the tamper switch with some wire and solder.
The system you have is manufactured by Cooper Security and is called : Scantronic 9751. This product range is still in production so replacement parts are easy to comeby, moreover. If you can't resolve this problem on your own just about any alarm installation engineer will be able to resolve for you (www.nsi.com will have a list of installers in your area). Hope this helps
