how can i connect cable to cooker terminal block on a Beko DV555?

new free-standing,single oven with grill.using 6mm cable and i find that the cooker terminal connectors dont seem big enough to get cable in and secured.Is it ok to seperate the strands and run them down each side of the connector screw because I cant see how the wire will go in in its normal thickness.any advice appreciated.
