Mend Dyson DC04 Correct Going Replace

Finding correct motor?

Am going to try to replace the motor on grey/lime DC04 but know there are several different types.
How do I find which one to order?
Am I right in thinking I'll have to strip the cleaner down to the motor to get the details off it.
