I have the same thing. I just rang Comet and they told me Thomson have done a software upgrade that has gone a bit wrong!
The man from Comet told me to do this:
Unplug the cord out of the back of the box but leave on at plug.
press and hold the standby button, put the cord back in.
as soon as you see the light blip, let go of the standby button then press menu (1st) and then OK (2nd) Very quickly and the green light should start up.
Then you may need to re-tune box.... Will do it tonight (May 5th) and will let you know if it worked or not!
