HOTPOINT FFA71 FREEZER HIGH TEMP LIGHT COMES ON?

ON OUR HOTPOINT FFA71 FRIDGE/FREEZER THE FREEZER HIGH TEMP LIGHT HAS BEEN COMING ON AND GOING OFF INTERMITTANTLY FOR A FEW MONTHS. IT WOULD APPEAR TO BE NOT A SENSOR FAULT AS THERE HAVE BEEN SOME CASES OF FOOD NOT FREEZING. MORE OFTEN THAN NOT WE PRESS THE FAST FREEZE BUTTON ON THE TOP FRONT PANEL AND THIS RECTIFIES THE PROBLEM TEMPORARELY. THE APPLIANCE HAS ALSO BEEN MAKING SOME LOAD NOISES OF LATE, SOME SOUNDING LIKE SOMETHING FALLING INSIDE THE APPLIANCE. HAVE HAD THE APPLIANCE OUT AND INSPECTED WITH NO OBVIOUS DEFECTS. THERE IS ALSO A SMALL AMOUNT OF ICE BUILD UP IN THE FREEZER COMPARTMENT ON THE BACK WALL, WHICH I HAVE MANUALLY DEFROSTED ONCE, THIS ON A FRSOT FREE FREEZER!

i now have the same problem my freezer FFA74 is 4 years old and some things are frozen but things like ice cream and ice lollies are melting, is there anyone out there knows how to fix the problem i cant afford to buy a new one.

i have this same problem with my hotpoint FF61A fridge freezer, but the high temp light is always on for my freezer and the appliance is making like a bubbling sound.

I have the same problem with my Hotpoint frost free FFA74 light coming on once or twice a day and cracking noise at the back , this for the past 2/3 months. I have taken the plastic tray at the back just above the refrigerating liquid canister which seems very hot . This tray was full of slimy dark pieces so I have cleaned it thoroughly I have as well introduced plastic straws attached together in the two holes going down to the tray (one has a black pipe at the end and the other is just a little hole coming from the fridge above the tray) this seemed to have improved the problem for 48 hours no more and today i am back to square one... red light on then i press the fast freeze and tomorrow will be the same.
I have as well some ice forming in the bottom of the freezer. One thing I have noticed is that the indicator green/OK inside the fridge becomes black which seems to suggest that the fridge upper part gets too hot??? May be this melt some ice in the back of the first (from the top) drawer in the freezer part.
Any other suggestion welcome.
