they sell booklets and do it yourself instructions on cd that show you how to reset the 18 or 24v packs using the charge off a car battery on amazon and ebay. each battery requires different charging time so you'll need instructions.

If the batteries were left discharged, they could well be goosed - the normal sequence is to run the batteries completely flat, then immediately give them a full charge for a few hours.
