Mend Panasonic NN-SN966B Screw Replacement Top

Panasonic Waveguide cover plastic screw replacement?

Our plastic cover at top of inside cabinet was held fastened to ceiling case by three plastic split rivets. These have now loosened and last one allowed cover to collapse.
Can I use self-tapping metal screws to replace these or is this dangerous and risking sparks? Must I replace with similar plastic rivets?

Any decent hardware store will have nylon rivets
or other nylon hardware.

Do not use metal as this will cause arcing, heat,
and possibly feedback into the electronics which
could damage the magnetron.
