In the past week both front doors have fallen and have to be lifted to close or they hit the paintwork and knock paint off. Why has this happened and is there a way I can fix it myself?
Thanks.
Thanks for both of your replies. I've had the car five weeks. The passenger door has never really sounded right when I closed it. I reckon they've fallen by an inch or so. I've just found out the driver's door is missing an hinge and a local garage has also said it needs a little bit of welding too. The mechanic at the garage managed to physically lift the door which means I can now close it without hitting the painwork. Until I can afford to get it fixed properly that is. And apparently something is missing on the passenger side that's making it drop. That can only be lifted when it's been repaired.
Thanks Glynn for the offer

Why would they both have suddenly fallen, and by so much???
How long have you owned the car?
I'd be worried it's a 'cut and shut', i.e. the front part of one car welded to the back part of another, or a badly repaired write off.

your doors have simply dropped due to their weight ! nothing major , you just need to borrow a hinge bender from a reputable bodyshop 0r if you are near sheffield i could do it f.o.c . should be a to minute job.
