Mend Hotpoint Aquarius Dryer

Hotpoint Aquarius Dryer?

My dryer has a burning smell and when i opened the door it was smoking inside and also the inside was very hot? any ideas what this could be?

is it knackered or can the problem be fixed (before buying a new one)?

You would be surprised at the amount of dust and lint that collects on the inside of the dryer, despite it having a filter....anyway, either lint has gathered on the heating element or the motor is burning out. Either way it needs to be taken apart for a look, but in the mean time, keep an eye on it until you're sure there is no fire in there.
