cable (soap)?

i have recently taken my machine apart to fit a new door gasket, put it all back together and now it will not release the soap and soft rinse form the tray. I believe i have the cable that controls this on wrong, so is there anybody out there that can confirm which way this is supposed to go on. PLEASE help me as the wife is going mad she can't do any washing LOL
